I have compared 5 wine bottle openers for people with arthritis, if you struggle with this then one of these could be the solution for you.
Because no one should have to suffer extra joint pain unnecessarily.

If this is something that you suffer from, then an electric bottle opener may well be the answer for you.

It was while in conversation with a friend that rheumatism and arthritis came up and how difficult it's just to open everyday things.
Like taking the plastic cover off of your milk bottle or opening a can of fruit.

Now I have suffered from this for around fifteen years, nothing major, at first just the normal ache that you never used to have.
I know that over the years it has got slowly more painful but definitely not debilitating.

It was then that my friend opened up to me that sometimes doing these everyday things was more of a major problem for them and it was this that got me thinking about what would I do if I really couldn’t do these things, and then I almost panicked.

What would I do if I couldn’t open my favourite bottle of wine for lunch on a Sunday, or for an evening with my girlfriend?
I know that even now there are times when I pick up the corkscrew and either have trouble starting it off and then getting the thing to turn properly, to be honest,

I get angry with myself, bearing in mind this was my job for the best part of 25 years in the licensed trade.

Sometimes something as simple as taking the foil off the wine bottle top before you open it becomes more difficult.
That started me thinking, how would I go about finding a solution for this major problem?

The biggest problem with standard corkscrews whether it is the waiter's friend type that has the little knife that you can cut the foil off before you open the bottle
or the winged type of corkscrew, both have the problem that you need the strength to start it off and also to extract the cork from the bottle.

I made a search for a bottle opener that would make life a lot easier no matter how bad my wrist pains and joint pains got.

It was then that I started looking at electric wine bottle openers, with a eureka moment could this be the answer to my arthritis problem?
The great thing is that you don’t need to suffer from any joint problems, it would be great just to be able to open your favourite bottle of wine in a more efficient way.

The one thing that I have found with using my openers ( i have two at the moment one big and bulky and one fairly slim) is that because I have quite large hands I can use both well.
But my feeling is if you are someone that has small hands you most definitely need to go for a slim opener.

One word of caution with any electric wine bottle opener, you need to make sure that you have a good hold on the bottle before you insert the corkscrew into the bottle, as there is an amount of torque that takes place during the initial engagement.

Happy wine days and don’t forget to drink responsibly and stay safe.

The Cheer, electric wine opener corkscrew was the first one to take my eye as it looks very stylish, it has a foil cutter to assist with removing the foil top of the bottle, and it is run by 4AA batteries so there are no trailing leads.

I feel that this would be great for someone with a smaller hand as it is so slim.

It has an easy-to-operate button on the front that pulls the cork out and once the cork is out just reverse the operation and the cork will drop out into your hand.
It also has an LED light so that you can keep an eye on the whole operation.

The great thing about using this opener is that because it does all of the work when you are opening your fabulous bottle of wine, you don’t get the pain in your hands from arthritis when you are using it.

The manufacturer says that it can open all sizes of bottles, with ease. Since I have been using this one for a few years now I havent come across a bottle that it cant open.

P3 Ozeri Nouveaux II Electric Wine Opener
The Inspired wine bottle opener has a curved design with an ergonomic grip, which is one of the things that I like about it.

This is a bigger style of the electric wine bottle opener. It is definitely for someone with a larger size hand.
How great to have a bottle opener that does the work for you, saving you a painful job because of your rheumatism/ arthritis.

The one thing I like about it is that the foil cutter is part of the overall design, it sits atop the opener, so you just unclip it, put it on top of your wine bottle, and twist it until it comes free.
It is powered by a plugged charger and it would be good to give it an 8-hour charge to start it off.
It comes with a wine pourer & stopper and a removable lid that converts into a foil cutter.

The newly designed motor now opens up to 60 bottles on a single charge, all with the single push of a button, once the cork is pulled you just reverse the operation and the cork comes off of the screw and drops into your hand.

It also has a LED light to help with operations.

This battery-operated wine bottle opener has some really good reviews.

It seems to be quite a chunky opener just by looking at the size of the wine bottle on the display this is great as it allows you to open a great bottle of wine without having pain in your joints.

I'm not sure about the up to 80 bottles with one set of batteries but I guess it depends on how new they are. It comes with a foil cutter and has an LED light to help with the pulling of the cork.

The Cuisinart Rechargeable electric bottle opener removes the cork in seconds with ease.
It opens up to 80 bottles on a single charge. When taking it out of the box I would recommend a charge of 6 to 8 hours.

The opener has a simple push-button operation. It is brilliant to know that the opener does all of the work for you so none of the normal pain due to rheumatism.
It is a beautifully finished wine bottle opener in midnight grey and copper, presented in a stunning gift box

The foil cutter that comes with this makes for ease of removing the foil, it has a comfortable soft-grip handle for ease of handling.
It just looks good for anyone that has trouble gripping an opener that is too wide.

The sleek sophisticated design gives it a look that is great just standing on your sideboard or in the kitchen.
